Ok, so moving along with the story, as I really do have a point aside from so-called Kings and Queens of high school.  It comes to popularity, and one’s so-called illusion and comfort all wrapped inside it.  I was having a conversation the other day, ok more like a year ago, when all the Presidential Election Buzz started back up.  A year and a half before a Presidential Election, of course everyone starts to talk.  Now, believe me - I am not one to talk politics, for the most part.  I think most political conversations are more bullshit than you can find on a cow farm, and especially when you come across a stupid person, my brain just starts to shut down.  I also tend not to speak on who I think I may vote for - for the same reasons - I just don’t want to go into it with people.

So, this next part is where I become stupid (yes, it happens, but this is very rare) and bring up a question on the 2008 Election.  It was a very general question, so miniscule that I don’t even remember what it was, but of course that one small question turns into a 20-minute-complete-waste-of-my-time-conversation.  It turned into a mini-debate of Obama is black, don’t vote for him / Hilary’s a woman, don’t vote for her.  When people start spewing out their opinions, I usually tend to shut up and just do the occasional head nod, again for the reason, I don’t want to go into it.  I have my opinion and I am entitled to it, as you have your stupid opinion and I just don’t want to hear it.

Well, after about 15 minutes of ignoring nonsense and staring at the other person in the most “really don’t give a shit about what you’re saying” fogged over gaze, something they said woke me out of my trance-like state, and I chimed into the one-sided conversation they were having with me:

“So, you’re not going to vote?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“I don’t like to…”

“Really?  That really surprises me.  Why don’t you like to vote?  You seem to have so much to say on the subject, and you seem like you would prefer one over the other…”

“I don’t like to vote because the person I vote for never wins.”

…

Ok.  Now this is where I just had to take a minute and compose myself.  I think I had to keep myself from laughing and nearly bust a rib bone in the process.  The reason you don’t like to vote is because the person you vote for never wins?!  OMFG!  You dumb broad!  So, ladies and gentlemen, THIS is where the Prom King thing comes in.  All rhetorical and in my head, of course, because I know I couldn’t further punish myself by staying in this ridiculous conversation, but you’re effing telling me you’re not going to vote for who you think should be the next leader of the country you were born and raised in, because you’re afraid the one you vote for isn’t going to win?

I really hope you’re good at something, say, putting on make-up or picking out a pair of high heels, because intellect and common sense, just REALLY doesn’t seem to be your strong suit.  Are you that intertwined with winning, and the popular vote, that you cannot even give your say in who should try to resurrect this falling country for the next 4-8 years?  Wow.

Reading on a different website of “Stupid Reasons To Not Vote”, one listed was MTV hasn’t told you who to vote for yet.  Yes, that is the SAME mentality here.  Higher Powers, be with us, because with a growing population of people with that mentality, this country really will go to hell in a handbasket.

I can understand there might be very good reasons others might not vote:

• You’re still a felon.
• You’re not old enough.
• The last time you voted the Republicans scored the office again.
• Religious reasons.

But beause your vote won’t be the winning person?  But, here, I might have had a moment of enlightenment.  If you’re that dumb-assed anyhow, maybe I really don’t want you to vote.  Wow, I might be a step closer in understanding you stupid people yet.

Honestly.  I don’t think this needs any explanation.  What dumbass thought THIS was a good idea?  Yes, I am frequently drunk, as it appears they are from all the bottles.  But I don’t think anything of a drunken stupor would lead me to be this effing stupid.

If I were to move from the US to France, I would hold myself to the standard that I would have to be able to speak enough French to at least get me by and not leaving people thinking, “What the hell was she talking about?”.  But the worst part about this whole post is, I’m not talking about an immigrant or someone that was not raised here. I am talking about someone that was born and raised in the not-so-good-US of A.  Now, come on.  I understand there are certain dialects, and certain slang that might be more relevant in different regions of the country.  But I honestly don’t think speaking like you’re stupid is a classification of slang.

Once you reach a certain age, I expect you to pretty much have mastered the English language…Or at least learned enough of it to be able to speak without leaving others confused as to what exactly you were trying to say. Especially when you are in your 30’s.   So, since you haven’t been able to pick up proper grammar in your pathetic 30 years of being, let me clear some things up for you:

• You don’t say:  “Tell them if I can call them back later?”  Nope, that just will not do.  You sound like an idiot.  “ASK them if I can call them back later?”
• You don’t get down from the car, you get OUT of the car.  What are you doing?  Standing on the fucking roof of the car?  If so, please DO get down, before your fat ass dents it.
• Not everything that is not a car is a truck.  See, here in America we have different types of vehicles.  Cars, station wagons, SUVs, and yes, we do have trucks.  But just because you are driving an Escalade does NOT mean you are driving a truck.  Trucks most generally have beds in the back - your Escalade does not.  So the next time you are getting OUT of your ESCALADE, please do not say “I’m getting down from the truck.”
• Here in America we do not say Avacate.  We say Avocado.  And if you’re referencing that thick green goo that you dip your chips into - we call it guacamole.

What started this whole rant was the inspiration I got from Monique in THIS POST she wrote.  She talks about how when you are in America, you MUST…ABSOLUTELY MUST know how to fucking speak English.  Ok, I will give you, you’re of a different ethnic background.  I will give you, your language at home might be other than English.  But when you’re at the store, at a restaurant, at work - YOU’RE NOT AT HOME!  SPEAK IN A LANGUAGE EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND.  Or Christ, at least speak in Non-Stupid English.  It’s ok, I have white trash roots, and hell, half my family doesn’t know how to speak correctly either, but damn.  If I can overcome the briar, so can you.  If I can learn how to speak in the same country you were born and raised in, so can you!  And if you’re not from the US, at least be effing considerate enough to either A.  STFU or B.  Learn how to speak English correctly.  Sigh.  Ok, I’ve said enough.  </rant>
